Building Explosion in Logan Township, New Jersey: Multiple Injuries Reported

A significant explosion occurred on Wednesday afternoon at Savita Naturals, located in the 600 block of Heron Drive, Logan Township, New Jersey. The incident has left several individuals hospitalized and led to considerable damage in the area.

Details of the Explosion

The explosion took place just before 3 p.m., and residents in nearby Swedesboro reported feeling the shockwave. Doorbell cameras captured the moment of the blast, revealing a large plume of black smoke rising from the site. Firefighters responded promptly, battling flames that continued to burn in the aftermath of the explosion.

Cooper University Hospital in Camden has confirmed that three individuals are being treated for their injuries, although their current conditions have not been disclosed by hospital officials. Initially, reports indicated that six people were injured, but this information was later corrected.

Community Response and Safety Measures

In response to the explosion, Gloucester County Emergency Management implemented a temporary shelter-in-place order for a two-mile radius around Heron Drive and High Hill Road. Fortunately, this precaution has since been lifted as conditions stabilized.

Witnesses in the vicinity described a scene of chaos. James Barber, who was working nearby, recounted, “I heard a really loud boom that shook our whole building. It felt like something hit us.” Another witness noted the extensive emergency response that followed, stating, “The whole sky was a plume of smoke, and I saw multiple collapse units and hazmat teams arriving from various counties. It was severe.”

Damage and Further Investigation

The explosion did not only affect the Savita Naturals building but also caused damage to a neighboring structure. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed as investigators seek to determine the cause of the explosion. Officials have not yet confirmed the nature of the explosion, which leaves the community anxious for answers.

Emergency Services on Scene

Emergency services including firefighters, medical teams, and hazardous materials units have been deployed to monitor the situation and ensure public safety. Video footage and reports highlight the extensive emergency response, indicating the severity of the incident and the prompt action taken by local authorities.
