RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has witnessed unprecedented growth in community support, amassing an impressive $7.68 million through philanthropy, ticket sales, and corporate partnerships during the fiscal year 2025, which ran from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025.
Record Philanthropic Contributions
During this fiscal year, UTRGV Athletics achieved a groundbreaking $6.18 million in philanthropic giving, marking a remarkable boost from previous years. This financial success stems from 2,463 donations, representing a staggering 200% increase since the 2019-2020 period. This surge in support sets a strong foundation for the growth of UTRGV Athletics, highlighting the community’s commitment prior to the first football game.
Comprehensive Revenue Metrics
In addition to philanthropic funding, UTRGV Athletics recorded $872,395 in corporate partnerships and $630,010 from ticket sales, both of which are instrumental in supporting the athletic programs. The upcoming season saw UTRGV welcome 147,569 fans across all sports, setting a new standard for attendance. The baseball program led the way with 84,258 fans, ranking it the 34th best in NCAA Division I. Notably, the volleyball team also established its attendance record, attracting 13,386 fans, placing it within the top 70 of 346 Division I programs.
