It was an honor to participate in the 5th U.S.–Mexico Binational Convention, organized by the American Society of Mexico in Mexico City.
My sincere appreciation to Larry Rubin, president, and Glenn Hamer, executive vice president, for the invitation and for creating an important platform to advance the binational agenda.
The conversations addressed issues that will define North America’s competitiveness: USMCA/T-MEC, energy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, investment, shared security, human capital and regional integration.
It was a privilege to hear perspectives from leaders including U.S. Ambassador Ronald D. Johnson, Kenia López Rabadán, Senator Alejandro Murat, Ildefonso Guajardo, as well as Governors Pablo Lemus, Mauricio Kuri, Libia Dennise García and Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, of the Bajio Occidente Region who shared regional perspectives on technology, manufacturing, investment and economic development.
I also valued Alina Johnson’s message on civic leadership and purpose; Laura Ripani’s emphasis on investing in people, human capital and up-skilling for a rapidly changing economy; and Maricela Morales Ibáñez’s perspective on shared security and bilateral cooperation.
One message connected these conversations for me: North American competitiveness requires a binational ecosystem that connects technology, energy, AI, security, investment, talent and strong communities. (Thank you) Duncan Wood, Rolando Durán Rocha, Chad Wolf, Roberto González, and Greg Sindelar.
This is especially relevant for the Rio Grande Valley, a region strategically positioned at the intersection of the U.S. and Mexico, with growing opportunities in trade, aerospace, AI, infrastructure and human capital.
Through the Women Economic Forum Rio Grande Valley, we will continue connecting these global and binational conversations with our region — and bringing the voice, talent and economic potential of the RGV to broader international platforms.
Thank you again to the American Society of Mexico, Larry Rubin and Glenn Hamer for bringing together the people and ideas that can turn dialogue into collaboration and shared prosperity.
The future of North America will be built by how effectively we connect our economies, our innovation and, above all, our people.
