Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested an 18-year-old Edinburg man after allegedly shooting a woman earlier this month.
Rodrigo Castillo was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon once he was arrested 12 days following the shooting, according to an agency news release.
At around 12:50 a.m. on July 12, deputies responded to the 5100 block of South Raul Longoria Road in rural Edinburg after receiving multiple 911 calls regarding shots fired.
Once there, deputies found a woman who had sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators later identified the suspect as Castillo, according to the release.
Then on Friday, Castillo was arrested and arraigned for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and had his bond set for $100,000.
