Las Vegas native Noah Gulley announced he would be joining the Valley’s CBS and NBC affiliates — jointly known as ValleyCentral and owned by Nexstar Media Group — on LinkedIn.
“I’m excited to share that I’ll be joining KVEO CBS 4 and NBC 23 as a Sports Reporter and Anchor in the Rio Grande Valley this July,” Gulley said.
“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. From Las Vegas, to Chicago, to Miami, I’ve been fortunate to learn from so many talented people who have helped me grow both personally and professionally,” he added.
Gulley comes to the Valley from Florida, where he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Miami. While in school, Gulley served as a reporter with the University of Miami Television student news station, covering Hurricanes athletics and local news. He also worked as a freelance sportswriter for the Miami Herald newspaper, where he continued to cover University of Miami athletics, as well as Major League Baseball and the PGA Tour. Gulley earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and media studies from Barry University, located in a north Miami suburb called Miami Shores, where he also played as an outfielder for the Barry Buccaneers baseball team.
Gulley’s announcement on LinkedIn comes less than a month after another ValleyCentral sportscaster, Blake Holland, announced his exit from the dual-branded television station.
“After an incredible four years at KVEO, yesterday was my final day,” Holland said in a May 30 Facebook post. He further told MySA that his departure from the Valley was “bittersweet” but that he was “excited for what’s next and grateful for everything the Valley has given me.”
