RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is partnering with the Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix), a nonprofit organization founded by veterans and dedicated to supporting and honoring the U.S. military community, veterans, and their families, to help UTRGV football season ticket holders who aren’t using their tickets donate their tickets to veterans.
Tickets can be donated by using the ticket transfer feature in Showpass and sending them via email to donate@vettix.org. Ticket donations to Vet Tix are tax deductible and fans will receive an email confirming the benefits of their donation. For more details on the ticket transfer process, visit help.showpass.com.
Through this partnership, UTRGV Athletics supports Vet Tix’s mission of providing tickets to events that reduce stress, strengthen family bonds, create lasting memories, and encourage veterans and service members to stay engaged with their communities and American life. Vet Tix honors service by providing positive family and life experiences – during and after military service – by offering free tickets to sporting events, concerts, performing arts, educational, and family activities across the country. Since 2008, Vet Tix has distributed over 30 million free event tickets to more than 2.4 million members nationwide.
“This is such a meaningful partnership for us because this gives us an avenue to help support those who have done so much for our country,” UTRGV Senior Vice President and Director of Athletics Chasse Conque said. “We understand that our season ticket holders can’t make every game, and rather than leaving those seats empty, we hope to see lots of veterans in the stands cheering on the Vaqueros on Saturdays throughout the fall.”
UTRGV, which is receiving votes in the Week 4 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) FCS Coaches Poll, has four home games remaining:
Oct. 4 vs. Houston Christian University, 7 p.m.
Oct. 25 vs. #24 Incarnate Word, 7 p.m.
Nov. 8 vs. Nicholls, 5 p.m.
Nov. 22 vs. East Texas A&M, 5 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to visit RallyTheValley.com for everything they need to know about attending a home football game.
